Voyager partners with manufacturers at five points in a product program, from a full vehicle build to a focused innovation sprint or portfolio visualisation. Pick the closest fit below, and we'll shape the actual scope together on a 30-minute call.
FAQ - Before we start a project
01Do you do Class A surfacing?
Yes. Design and Class A both.
02Do you do the engineering?
We collaborate with engineering, we don't sell it as a standalone deliverable. Technical development for vehicles is in-house; simulation and analysis run through partners we know well. If you already have a defined technical package, we can take it and deliver the full exterior and interior on top of it.
03Do you help with business model work?
Product design and development is the offer. Strategy conversations happen inside an engagement where they affect design decisions, but Voyager isn't a strategy consultancy in-house. For clients who need that work done properly, we route it through a longstanding strategy consulting partner rather than doing it ourselves.
04How do you charge?
Quote-based, not hourly. Each service has its own logic: fixed fee for a concept sprint, milestone-based for end-to-end development, published monthly pricing for retainers, custom scope-based for visual work.
05How do I get a quote, and what do you need from me?
A discovery call first, always, even with repeat clients. For anything involving existing hardware we'll ask for detailed photographs and CAD files so we can gauge real scope. Once scope is clear we produce a scope document, treat it as a working draft, and expect a round of back and forth on it. When you confirm the scope, we issue the official quote, sign it or approve it by email, and work starts right away.
06Will you tell us if the scope we're asking for is too much?
Yes. The right level of effort depends on what the work has to achieve. If a minimal version does the job we'll say so. If you're trying to prove high-end capability to a brand, a minimal version won't get you there, and we'll say that too.
07How long does it take?
It depends on the package and on how quickly decisions get made on your side. As a reference point from real projects: roughly three weeks for 3D work following a concept phase, and a design-for-manufacturing stage running around nine to ten weeks. Full programmes are quoted phase by phase with a budgeted cost per phase. We can sometimes compress a timeline, and we'll tell you honestly when the answer is no; where an external engineering partner sits on the critical path, compression has to be worked out with them rather than promised by us.
08How do you work with our internal team and partners?
Alongside them. We add senior design capacity rather than taking over, and your team's work stays theirs. Where you have engineering partners or other suppliers on the project, we want at least an introduction with them before the project starts. That's a requirement, not a nicety, most design failures downstream come from parties who never spoke to each other.
